Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a body of laws governing buying and selling in the United States. It regulates commercial transactions to help ensure uniformity (consistency) and fairness in business practices. The UCC consists of thirteen articles, most devoted to particular areas of commercial law. Some of these areas include sales, bank deposits, letters of credit, and investments. All 50 states have adopted the code, either in whole or in part.
