Three Kings Islands are a group of islands off the northeastern coast of the North Island of New Zealand. They are sanctuaries for birds and plants. The Dutch explorer Abel Janszoon Tasman named the islands when he sighted them on the day of the Feast of the Epiphany in 1643. See Tasman, Abel Janszoon.
