Thomson, Jeff

Thomson, Jeff (1950-...), an Australian cricket player, became one of the fastest bowlers ever timed in cricket. In 1975, his bowling delivery was timed at 99.7 miles (160.45 kilometers) an hour. He made his Test debut for Australia against Pakistan in 1972 and played his final Test match against England in 1985. Jeffrey Robert Thomson was born on Aug. 16, 1950, in Sydney.
