Conteh, John (1951-...), a British boxer, became the World Boxing Council (WBC) version of world champion in the light-heavyweight class in 1974. He won the title by defeating the Argentine boxer Jorge Ahumada. In 1977, the WBC deprived Conteh of his title for refusing to fight another Argentine, Miguel Cuello, in Monaco.
