Fort Shafter

Fort Shafter, Hawaii, serves as the headquarters of the United States Army, Pacific. It covers 1,500 acres (610 hectares) north of Honolulu's main urban area. The post was set up as Kahauiki Military Reservation in 1899. In 1907, it was named for Major General William R.
