Rie, Lucie (1902-1995), an Austrian-born British studio potter, won fame for her modernist stoneware, tin-glazed earthenware, and porcelain pots. Her style was individual and earned her the reputation as one of the great master potters of the 1900's. Rie created jewelry and tableware as well as vases, bottles, and bowls.
