Oman, Sir Charles (1860-1946), was a British historian noted for his military histories. His best-known work is the seven-volume History of the Peninsular War, 1807-1814 (1902-1930). His other works include History of the Art of War in the Middle Ages (1898), A Short History of England (1895), and a volume of memoirs, Things I Have Seen (1933).
