Konigsburg, Elaine (1930-...), is an American children's author and illustrator. She won two Newbery Medals, in 1968 for From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler and in 1997 for The View from Saturday. Konigsburg also won the 2001 Regina Medal awarded by the Catholic Library Association. Her other books include Jennifer, Hecate, Macbeth, William McKinley, and Me, Elizabeth (1968), A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver (1973), Throwing Shadows (1980), Silent to the Bone (2000), and The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place (2004). She illustrates her books.
