Kelly, Colin (1915-1941), a captain in the United States Army Air Forces, received the Distinguished Service Cross posthumously, for heroism early in World War II. On Dec. 10, 1941, his B-17 bomber attacked a Japanese naval task force in the Philippines. The plane was hit and Kelly ordered his crew to bail out, but could not escape the crash himself. Kelly was born in Monticello, Florida.
