Hevesy, Georg von, HEH veh shee, geh AWRG vawn (1885-1966), won the 1943 Nobel Prize for chemistry. He received the award primarily for his research work on the use of isotopes as indicators in the study of chemical processes. In addition, Hevesy helped discover the element hafnium, which is found in zircon ore. He is sometimes called George de Hevesy.
