Hawkes, Jacquetta (1910-1996), an English archaeologist and author, carried out excavations in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and Palestine. Her books include Archaeology of Jersey (1939). She and her husband, the British archaeologist Christopher Hawkes, coauthored Prehistoric Britain (1944) and Early Britain (1945).
