Group of Eight, often called the G-8, is an informal organization of eight major industrialized nations. The G-8 member countries are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The G-8 plays a major role in raising issues and setting priorities in the international community.
