Griffith Joyner, Florence (1959-1998), was a famous American track and field star. She won three gold medals in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea. She won the 100-meter and 200-meter races, setting a world record in the 200 meters. She also ran a leg on the victorious American 400-meter relay team. In addition, she won a silver medal as a member of the 1,600-meter relay team.
