Glaser, Donald Arthur (1926-...), an American physicist, won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1960 for inventing the bubble chamber. This device is a vital aid in nuclear physics. With it, researchers can track the paths of nuclear particles. It contains liquefied gas. Nuclear particles shot through the liquefied gas leave tracks of tiny bubbles that can be photographed.
