Sokol

Sokol, SOH kawl, is an international organization that stresses physical fitness and moral strength. The organization has no political or religious connections, and people of any age may join. Sokol was founded in Prague, in what is now the Czech Republic, in 1862. It has chapters in Australia, Canada, the United States, South America, and Europe. The American Sokol Organization was founded in 1865. It has about 100 chapters. National headquarters are in East Orange, New Jersey. More »
