Fry, Charles (1872-1956), was one of the United Kingdom's best all-around athletes. He was a great cricketer, played soccer and rugby, and was a long jumper. He played cricket for Surrey, Sussex, and Hampshire. He appeared in 26 Test matches, and was captain in 9 of them. His highest score was 258, for Hampshire in 1911. Fry played soccer for England. He was also a scholar, journalist, and politician.
