Flag of truce is a plain white flag used by opposing sides on a battlefield when they want to discuss peace terms. It is also used to arrange for a prisoner exchange or for wounded to be rescued. Both sides stop fighting while their leaders discuss terms of the truce. All armies recognize the flag of truce.
