Ferguson, Sir John (1881-1969), combined a distinguished legal career with a keen interest in bibliography. He served on the bench of the New South Wales Industrial Commission from 1936 to 1953 and was also president of the Royal Australian Historical Society in 1914, 1940, and 1941.
