Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is an agency in the United States Department of Transportation. It controls air traffic; certifies aircraft, airports, and pilots and other personnel; and operates air navigation aids. The FAA announces and enforces air traffic procedures. Its research and development services deal with air traffic and air navigation and landing aids.
