Duntroon, in the Australian Capital Territory, is the site of the Royal Military College, which prepares cadets for careers as officers in the Australian Army. About 100 cadets each year begin four years of academic and military training at the college, which houses the faculty of military studies of the University of New South Wales. Graduates of the college are commissioned as lieutenants and are awarded degrees in arts, science, or engineering. The college dates from 1911.
