Du Pre, doo PRAY, Jacqueline (1945-1987), an outstanding English cellist, made her debut in London at the age of 16. In 1973, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which eventually ended her concert and recording activities. Although her career only lasted a little more than a decade, she performed and recorded much of the major cello repertoire.
