Debre, deh BRAY, Michel Jean Pierre (1912-1996), served as prime minister of France from 1959 to 1962. In 1963, he was elected to the National Assembly, a branch of Parliament. Debre was appointed minister of economy and finances in 1966 and held that office until 1968. He was minister of foreign affairs in 1968 and 1969. He was named defense minister in 1969.
