Congressional page works as a messenger in the United States Senate or House of Representatives. Pages carry messages between the Capitol and the Senate and House office buildings, and run errands for the senators and representatives. Members of Congress appoint a limited number of young people from their home districts to work as pages. Pages range in age from 14 to 18 years. They are paid only for the periods the Senate or House is in session. Pages attend a special high school from 6:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
