Marker is an instrument with a soft tip that is used for writing, drawing, and coloring. A marker has its own supply of ink. A capillary reservoir, a cylinder of fibrous synthetic material, holds the ink much as a sponge holds water. The capillary reservoir is typically encased in a plastic barrel with a nib (tip) at one end. The nib is usually made of felt or a feltlike material.
