Christie, Linford (1960-...), a British athlete, won the grand slam of international 100-meter sprint titles in 1993. He became the world champion after finishing the race in 9.87 seconds at the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1993. He won the gold medal for the United Kingdom in the men's 100-meter sprint at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. At 32, Christie was the oldest athlete, by four years, ever to win the medal.
