Charlton, Eddie (1929-2004), an Australian snooker player, set a world record running break of 272 in 1967. He made two consecutive breaks of 137 and 135 without either opponent getting a shot. Charlton won the world open snooker championship in 1968. He also won the international Pot Black series in 1972, 1973, and 1980. Charlton won the World Matchplay title in 1976. He was runner-up in the Word Snooker Championships in 1968, 1973, and 1975.
