Breasley, Scobie (1914-2006), an Australian jockey, became a leading rider in Australia and the United Kingdom. In Australia, he won the Caufield Cup five times and the Sydney Cup twice. After 1950, when he settled in the United Kingdom, he won many of the world's richest horse races, including the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, in France, in 1957, and the English Derby, in 1964 and 1966. From 1950 until his retirement in 1968, Breasley rode 2,161 winners in the United Kingdom. He won the British Jockeys' Championship in 1957, 1961, 1962, and 1963.
