Bowden, Bobby (1929-...), is one of the most successful coaches in the history of American college football. During the 2003 season, Bowden won his 339th career victory, breaking the previous record set by Joe Paterno for Division 1-A head coaches. That division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association consists of the largest schools playing college football. Bowden has won most of his games as head coach of Florida State University. At the school, his teams won national championships in 1993 and 1999.
