Bose, Satyendra Nath (1894-1974), was an Indian physicist who, with Albert Einstein, developed a system of statistical quantum mechanics now known as Bose-Einstein statistics. This system of statistics applies to particles not limited to single occupancy of the same quantum space. These particles are called bosons, after Bose.
