Birkett, Lord (1883-1962), was an eminent British lawyer and judge. His brilliant mind and fine speaking voice made him a persuasive advocate. At the Nuremberg Trials of war criminals, held after World War II (1939-1945), he represented the United Kingdom as alternate judge to Lord Justice Lawrence.
