Benaud, Richie (1930-...), captained the Australian cricket team in 28 Tests from 1958 to 1963, before retiring unbeaten in any Test series. He scored 2,201 runs and took 248 wickets in 63 Tests between 1952 and 1964. He was the first Test cricketer to do the double of 2,000 runs and 200 wickets. After retiring from the game, he worked as a journalist and television commentator with a Sydney television station and the British Broadcasting Corporation. Richard Benaud was born on Oct. 6, 1930, at Penrith, New South Wales.
