Balmoral is a castle belonging to the British monarch. It stands on the banks of the River Dee, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Aberdeen, Scotland. The castle was bought for the royal family by Prince Albert and rebuilt between 1853 and 1855. The grounds of the castle are open to the public during the summer.
