Andromeda, an DROM uh duh, is a constellation of the northern celestial hemisphere. It extends from the constellation Perseus to the northeast corner of the great square of the constellation Pegasus. The brightest star of Andromeda, called Alpheratz, completes the square of Pegasus. The Andromeda Galaxy, which is a spiral galaxy close to our solar system, is visible as a faint, misty spot in the Andromeda constellation.
