Andric, AHN drihch, Ivo (1892-1975), a Yugoslav writer, won the 1961 Nobel Prize for literature. His novels Bridge on the Drina (1945) and Bosnian Chronicle (1963) deal with life in Yugoslavia. Both have been translated into English. Andric was born near Travnik in Bosnia (later part of Yugoslavia), and was graduated from Charles Francis University in Graz, Austria.
