Anderson, Clinton Presba (1895-1975), a New Mexico Democrat, served in the U.S. Senate from 1949 to 1973. He served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1941 to 1945, and also served as secretary of agriculture from 1945 to 1948. Anderson began his political career as treasurer of New Mexico in 1933 and 1934. He headed New Mexico's state Relief Administration in 1935, and Unemployment Compensation Commission from 1936 to 1938.
