Anders, William Alison (1933-...), served as a United States astronaut from 1963 to 1969. With astronauts Frank Borman and James A. Lovell, Jr., Anders flew on the Apollo 8 space flight, which circled the moon 10 times on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1968. Anders served as systems engineer and took most of the photographs during the flight.
