Boyd Orr, Lord (1880-1971), a British nutrition and agricultural scientist, won the 1949 Nobel Peace Prize. He served as director general of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization from 1945 to 1948, and as president of the World Federalist Government movement in 1948.
