Adams, Scott (1957-...), an American cartoonist, created the comic strip "Dilbert." Dilbert is an engineer who struggles daily with the often ridiculous policies of corporate management. Other characters include fellow employees Alice and Wally; Catbert, a cat who is the human resources director; and Dogbert and Ratbert, a dog and a rat who serve as consultants. Adams bases many of his cartoons on stories that readers send him about actual experiences at their jobs.
